    Depart for Osaka. Cross the
    International Date Line arriving a day later
    than you departed. Clear customs and
    immigration and meet your local English speaking
    guide. Enjoy a two-night stay

    Day 3

    Breakfast is included daily, with familiar
    and international options. Begin your
    immersion into Japan with a tour of Osaka
    Castle. At Kuchu-Teien Observatory,

    famed Kobe Beef, Teppanyaki style, where

    Day 4

    Catch the “Bullet Train” to Himeji for a
    walking tour and a visit to Himeji Castle,
    which dominates the hilltop. After lunch
    continue by high speed train to Hiroshima.

    Day 5

    Take a ferry to the floating
    “Torii,” the iconic red Shinto
    Gate of Itsukushima Shinto Shrine,
    a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Try
    your hand at Japanese calligraphy and
    visit Peace Memorial Park and the A-Bomb
    Dome Museum. Train to Kyoto, Japan’s
    Cultural Capital. Dinner tonight is

    Day 6

    Visit Nara, a center for culture, history
    and art. The impressive Todai-ji Buddhist
    Temple has Sika deer roaming about the
    grounds. Local sightseeing follows before
    returning to Kyoto. Both lunch and dinner
    are open today. Options are many and

    Day 7

    Kyoto is a wonderfully eclectic mix of
    modernity and classical. Visit Nijo Castle,
    Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), and the
    Heian Shinto Shrine. After a sushi lunch,
    enjoy a performance of highly stylized
    dance performed by geishas. Dinner is
    Yakitori, assorted skewered grilled meats.

    Day 8

    Zip over to Nagoya then slow down on a scenic
    train ride. Visit Takayama, a quaint picturesque
    mountain town, and a Gassho-Zukiri Farmhouse,
    a thatched roof structure dating back 200 years.

  • Day 9

    Walk Takayama’s historic streets to a morning market. After lunch on your own, train to Odawara and continue to Hakone, an upscale mountain region. Stay in a luxurious traditional Ryokan-style hotel. Unwind in the hot springs before a Kaiseki dinner at your hotel. Each course is a visual and culinary work of art.   • Day 10

    See Hakone National Park from all
    angles! Take a tranquil cruise on Lake Ashi
    and a cable car ride up Mt. Komagatake.
    Lunch is en route to Kamakura, a seaside

    Today is all Tokyo! Visit the Tsukiji
    Market, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace,

    samurai sword play. Come together for
    dinner over Shabu Shabu – soup with fresh

    Time to say sayonara! Depart from
