    Day 1

Fly to Portland, where lunch and a visit to HIGHLIGHTS
the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum
are waiting for you. Back in 1992, the
Disney Corporation was looking for a new
home for the Spruce Goose. The Evergreen
Museum submitted the winning bid and
thus began a long process, initially by
barge, to move the disassembled airplane
from its former home in Long Beach to the
    wilds of McMinnville, Oregon! Reassembled
in a special building to showcase its sheer
size, the Spruce Goose has a wingspan
roughly the length of a football field! View
other historic aircraft during a private
tour before heading north to Vancouver,
    Washington and your comfortable
accommodations for the night. Hilton Hotel
    Vancouver (L)

    Day 2

You have a choice to make this morning:
right outside your door discover a colorful
    cornucopia of delicious foods, including
fresh fruits and vegetables, at Vancouver’s
Farmers Market. Another option is a short
visit to the Pearson Air Museum, located
adjacent to the oldest, continuously used
airfield in the country. Brunch is served
nearby inside the historic Grant House at Ft.
Vancouver, part the fort’s historic Officers
Row. On to Portland for a visit to the Oregon
Pacific Railroad Museum and a ride on the
museum’s train along the Willamette River.
    Amtrak’s Cascade departs at 2:50pm.
Cross the mighty Columbia and past the
shadows of Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier
and arrive in time for dinner in Tacoma. Your
hotel this evening showcases glass artists
from all over the Pacific Northwest. It’s like
    staying inside museum! Hotel Murano

    Day 3

Travel north for a second brunch, this
time at Salty’s on Alki Beach, providing
    unsurpassed views of Downtown Seattle
from across the water. Your next rail
adventure takes place in Upper Snoqualmie
Valley as you travel by steam engine and
enjoy a visit to the local railway museum.
In the afternoon, another choice: check
into your hotel early or pay a visit to the
Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum.
What’s the significance of this private
collection? Every aircraft inside has not only
been meticulously restored but it is in full
    operational condition! Hilton Garden Inn
    Seattle North/Everett (BR)

    Day 4

Arise early this morning for a visit to
Boeing’s Future of Flight. In addition to
the flight center’s museum and interactive
exhibits, the star of the show is its
    Widebody Jet Manufacturing Tour, where
visitors observe large aircraft like 747s,
767s, and 787s being assembled right
before their eyes! Please note: the factory
tour is a walking tour that involves a walk of
approximately one half mile without access
to seating or restrooms. Travel next to
Seattle for lunch prior to visiting the Boeing
Museum of Flight and returning home in the
    early evening. (L)
