Featuring three full days to explore the Disneyland Resort and museums of Orange County

Disneyland continues to become more popular with each passing year. We’ve escorted two groups recently and everyone loves feeling like a kid again – as evidenced by people wearing mouse ears when they show up at the airport! The park will be 62 years young and, after extensive renovations to the area around the Rivers of America, sports an updated railroad and brand new Fantasmic! evening show. At Disney California Adventure you can take in the new Broadway-style show Frozen at the Hyperion Theatre and fly across the globe on the new “Soarin’ Around the World.” Additionally, we’ve timed our tour to include “Dapper Day,” when visitors are encouraged to dress up in their finest vintage clothing. The people watching is a lot of fun but parasols and pocketbooks, boater hats and suspenders are optional, of course!

We offer two special experiences during each visit. First a special three hour walking tour of Disneyland called “A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps,” which includes a box lunch and a visit to the “Dream Suite,” Walt and Lillian’s private apartment overlooking New Orleans Square. Second, enjoy the early history of “Walt’s Folly” during a presentation by author David Koenig at a special dinner at the Anaheim White House.

Due to feedback from our customers we have added a third day to visit the parks but will offer optional attractions you can visit if you need a break from the “Disney Magic.” Choose to visit the newly renovated Richard M. Nixon Presidential Library & Museum in addition to the Bowers Museum, featuring a new exhibit called American Visionary: John F. Kennedy’s Life & Times. We’ll even include a guided tour of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles after lunch at the Tam O’Shanter, the original restaurant in the Lawry’s Prime Rib Family. Mr. Disney ate here so often his employees referred to it at the Disney Studios’ commissary!

We have worked to design the itinerary for different levels of activity. Our own private shuttle will run to/from the hotel so you can come and go as your needs dictate. Of course, you will get more value if you spend more time in the parks. You can choose a ticket that allows for admission to one park per day OR you can choose a “Park Hopper Pass,” which allows you to go in between both parks as often as you would like each day. You can do your homework about the parks before you register for our tour by visiting www.disneyland.com.

“A Walk in Walt’s Footsteps” tour is included in both packages. It is a three-hour walking tour. You must be able to stand at points during the tour. If you wish to skip this tour or have mobility issues which might make it difficult to enjoy the tour, you can opt out and receive a credit of $109 off either package price. Please also note: all evening shows are STANDING ROOM only.

A Coos Bay Christmas

First offered as a holiday excursion in 2013, it has been often requested by our Christmas crowd ever since, so we are pleased to bring A Coos Bay Christmas back for a return engagement.

This is an all-coach trip. Travel north to Ashland/Medford the first day. There’s a lunch break in Redding and tonight you’ll partake in the annual Christmas Feast at the Winchester Inn. The six-course meal comes with carolers and costumed staff.

The next morning (Christmas Eve), before departing for the coast, make an early morning visit to Harry & David’s. As is our Christmas shopping tradition, we have negotiated a little gift card to get you started on your expedition. Travel to the coast, stopping in Bandon at Washed Ashore, a most unique place that makes art out of ocean trash. At Cranberry Sweets, your sponsored-shopping activities continue. Finish the day at The Mill Casino/Hotel in Coos Bay. Dinner tonight is a Crab Fest (other options available), as the Dungeness season will have just started.

Christmas Day brings our legendary White Elephant Gift Exchange, an ecological tour of the area and a visit to Shore Acres State Park. Not only is there an interesting story, there is a wonderful display of Christmas lights. A holiday feast is planned.

The trip home takes you down the Oregon Coast, with shopping stops at Misty Meadows Jams and the House of Myrtlewood. Spend the night in Eureka and head home through the redwoods.

A Day at the Races

Our always popular Day at the Races includes a sumptuous buffet lunch and seating in the enclosed Turf Club at Golden Gate Fields by beautiful San Francisco Bay in Berkeley. Enjoy the races from a comfortable table with betting windows conveniently nearby and television monitors throughout the dining room. We’ll arrive to get settled before post time and the first race.
