Depart Sacramento pausing at Lake Tahoe’s South Shore before continuing into Nevada and the town of Minden. Welcome to the 16th Annual Eagles and Agriculture Festival, where tours focus on the influx of bald eagles and other birds of prey that visit the scenic Carson Valley each year during the winter calving season. This remarkable interaction between nature and agriculture attracts photographers, birders and nature-lovers of all kinds who come to closely observe bald and golden eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, and a variety of other bird and wildlife species. This morning explore the area in more detail during a private “Ranch and Eagle” tour. As the guest of the ranches, you’ll observe their operations up close and meet the men and women who run them. You will learn about ranching and conservation in Carson Valley and have the opportunity to observe birds of prey from vantage points not available to the general public. This is a once in a year opportunity for eagle viewing and photography. A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Sierra Repertory Theatre performs one of Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. Two pairs of lovers and a rag-tag group of actors get lost in the woods. Meanwhile, the fairy kingdom is turned upside down by two quarreling leaders. Hold on to your heart – Cupid is armed and dangerous; and you’ll be laughing as his arrows go astray. Lunch is included at the City Hotel prior to the 2pm matinee.

A Play on the Lake, A Ride to the Sky

Head to Lake Tahoe for a fun overnighter featuring the 1960’s musical, Beehive. An exuberant jukebox celebration of women musicians from the 60’s; Beehive transports audiences on a nostalgic musical journey. The outdoor venue at Sand Harbor is perfect for a summer night of music, laughter, and of course Aqua Net-glistening coiffures! Join your fellow Sports Leisure travelers for a late morning trip to Truckee. Check into the Hampton Inn, don your best 60’s apparel (optional) before dinner at Moody’s before enjoying the show. Imagine, this venue has one of the most stunning backdrops in the world, a Lake Tahoe sunset!
After breakfast at the hotel; depart for Olympic Valley. Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States, and was host site of the entire 1960 Winter Olympics. A tram ride to the summit provides an aerial view of the valley, plus takes you to High Camp for lunch. Visit the Olympic Museum before returning to Sacramento, mid-afternoon.
