• 3 nights at the Knight Inlet remote floating wilderness lodge in a comfortable room with private washroom and shower
• 2½ days of guided wildlife viewing, including watching grizzly bears from nearby viewing platforms
• Marine wildlife viewing excursions as weather allows
• Seaplane from/to Campbell River
• Interpretive rainforest walk in the Kwalate Valley or a walk above the clouds

This vacation requires a valid passport!

  • Day 1

    Arrive in Vancouver in time to catch the ferry for an afternoon crossing of Georgia Strait. Arrive in Campbell River in the early evening and settle into your room. Campbell River Comfort Inn.

  • Day 2-4

    A morning seaplane flight delivers you to deep into Knight Inlet for three full days of immersion into the lives of British Columbia wildlife. Naturalists are on hand for all your questions, to direct your viewing experiences, and to provide evening interpretive programs. Activities may include (weather permitting) excursions into Johnstone Strait for marine wildlife viewing; Bald Eagle and other bird life viewing; a rainforest walk; and of course, daily excursions out by either boat or foot to watch the Grizzlies. Daily schedules are arranged with optimum wildlife viewing in mind. Check out Knight Inlet Lodge on Facebook for weekly photos and updates; you will want to be there! Accommodations include modest yet comfortable rooms featuring queen-sized beds with private washroom and shower. The dining room features bountiful fresh and local ingredients prepared in West Coast cuisine-style, with daily specials, fine wines (included) and decadent desserts. (They will try to accommodate most dietary preferences, with advance notice. Please advise at the time of making your reservations if you have restrictions.)   • Day 5

    Say goodbye to the lodge and wilderness as the seaplane arrives to return you to Vancouver Island. We will spend the night in Nanaimo. For the adventurous, go out and walk this harborside town in search of the perfect Nanaimo Bar (this is a local sweet, not an adult beverage establishment!). Coast Bastion Hotel (FB,L)

  • Day 6

    The morning ferry returns us to the mainland in time for a scatter lunch along the waterfront in Steveson. We will have an early evening flight home. (FB)

A Play on the Lake, A Ride to the Sky

Head to Lake Tahoe for a fun overnighter featuring the 1960’s musical, Beehive. An exuberant jukebox celebration of women musicians from the 60’s; Beehive transports audiences on a nostalgic musical journey. The outdoor venue at Sand Harbor is perfect for a summer night of music, laughter, and of course Aqua Net-glistening coiffures! Join your fellow Sports Leisure travelers for a late morning trip to Truckee. Check into the Hampton Inn, don your best 60’s apparel (optional) before dinner at Moody’s before enjoying the show. Imagine, this venue has one of the most stunning backdrops in the world, a Lake Tahoe sunset!
After breakfast at the hotel; depart for Olympic Valley. Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States, and was host site of the entire 1960 Winter Olympics. A tram ride to the summit provides an aerial view of the valley, plus takes you to High Camp for lunch. Visit the Olympic Museum before returning to Sacramento, mid-afternoon.
