  • Day 1

We are off to Toronto this morning! With our local guide, ascend the CN Tower to dine and view the world from 1200 feet. Both the view and the food are spectacular! The Waterloo Region, about an hour west of the city, is home to a large German population and your home for the next three nights. Check into your hotel and rest up for the many festivities to come. Radisson Hotel, Kitchener Waterloo – 3 nights (D)

  • Day 2

Canada’s largest year-round market, the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market – filled with fresh local produce and various types of arts and crafts – is our first stop. With fall colors at their peak, travel along the scenic shores of Georgian Bay to the Blue Mountain Region. We’ll be following the Apple Pie Trail, stopping for an included lunch and little tastings along the way. Return to your hotel to freshen up for a night of revelry with German food, beer, music and dancing at a local Festhalle. Raise your stein high! Prost! (FB,L,D)

  • Day 3

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! After a lazy morning explore the nearby Mennonite Countryside. Our guide will explain the culture of the community, and being Sunday, you’re sure to see horse-drawn buggies headed to church. Thanksgiving lunch features locally sourced farm fresh ingredients. Walk off your meal while exploring the Waterloo Region Museum, with a focus on the local history of the late 1800s. Discover the stories of the pioneers who settled here. Return to your hotel and enjoy dinner at your leisure. (FB,L)

  • Day 4

No one in town sits out the Kitchener- Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade! It’s a charming and thoroughly entertaining event. From reserved seating, take in all the sights and sounds. After the parade, travel to the Niagara Peninsula. Stop for lunch at a winery specializing in ice wine. Picked while frozen, the grapes produce only one drop of liquid when crushed, resulting in a deliciously sweet wine. Arrive at your hotel in time for the nightly Manager’s Reception at your hotel, with complimentary cocktails and snacks, before dinner “on the edge” at Element on the Falls. Views of the falls from your room are included! Embassy Suites Niagara Falls – 2 nights (FB,L,D)

  • Day 5

Begin the day with Journey Behind the Falls, standing, quite literally, behind the waterfall. Feel the immense power of 6 million cubic feet of water per minute cascading down right in front of you! Take some time to explore Clifton Hill and grab a bite to eat before boarding a vessel to sail right out to the base of the falls. Don’t worry, ponchos will be provided… but you’ll still get wet! Tonight laugh it up over dinner at Oh Canada… eh? (FB,D)

  • Day 6

A final day brings an optional visit to the Niagara Botanical Gardens or choose to remain at your hotel sipping coffee while enjoying the view from your room just a little longer. Cross the international border into New York and fly home from Buffalo. (FB)

A Coos Bay Christmas

First offered as a holiday excursion in 2013, it has been often requested by our Christmas crowd ever since, so we are pleased to bring A Coos Bay Christmas back for a return engagement.

This is an all-coach trip. Travel north to Ashland/Medford the first day. There’s a lunch break in Redding and tonight you’ll partake in the annual Christmas Feast at the Winchester Inn. The six-course meal comes with carolers and costumed staff.

The next morning (Christmas Eve), before departing for the coast, make an early morning visit to Harry & David’s. As is our Christmas shopping tradition, we have negotiated a little gift card to get you started on your expedition. Travel to the coast, stopping in Bandon at Washed Ashore, a most unique place that makes art out of ocean trash. At Cranberry Sweets, your sponsored-shopping activities continue. Finish the day at The Mill Casino/Hotel in Coos Bay. Dinner tonight is a Crab Fest (other options available), as the Dungeness season will have just started.

Christmas Day brings our legendary White Elephant Gift Exchange, an ecological tour of the area and a visit to Shore Acres State Park. Not only is there an interesting story, there is a wonderful display of Christmas lights. A holiday feast is planned.

The trip home takes you down the Oregon Coast, with shopping stops at Misty Meadows Jams and the House of Myrtlewood. Spend the night in Eureka and head home through the redwoods.
